Our "Sunshine Lady" Cat Meyer keeps us abreast of who needs our thoughts here on this page. Updated often please let her know if there is someone you know who should be listed here. It's important to support our members when they need our help. Come here often and pitch in, send those you know cards or maybe give them a call. I'm sure you would appreciate being remembered yourself if you were under the weather. Thanks Cat for keeping this page up.

8/17/09 GREAT NEWS!! JOFF IS GETTING MARRIED I received the following email from Joff
Greetings to All,
My new Stimulus Plan that I have been working hard of for the last few
months is a great one for me. No direction from Washington; no town hall
meetings; on government funding but lots of pay back. Ready for this? I AM
GETTING MARRIED. No date yet but I do have an "I will" and she has a ring.
Her name is Sally Jacob originally from the Detroit area now living in
Satsuma which is a small village about 10 mi from Palatka, graduate from
Wayne State, a 31 yr retiree from GM, Catholic, Florida Master Gardener, has
all of her teeth, can enunciate and doesn't like beer very much (I have to
work some on that). A blond, but does out distance me by a couple of grade
points. She has a Scottie dog which does like me and a African Gray Parrot
which doesn't. Bubba, my cat says that he will help me with that problem. I
know you will lover her too and welcome her into our family of friends.
As it stands now we plan to sell both of our homes and have found a place
around the corner from me which size wise is in between what we have now but
on the river. Lots of guest
accommodations.
I will keep you informed.
You can
pick yours selves of the
floor now.

and she looks great and is getting around great with her walker. 3/10/09 Subject: Re: Bill Ring
I received the following emails from Jacque' Ring about Bill
Ring. Please send cards and put him in your prayers.
Thank You, Cat (Sunshine lady)
Sorry we missed everyone at Brooksville. Bill
had been in the hospital for 18 days. He got home this past Saturday the
7th. He is doing fine. Just has to build his strength and stamina back
up. Hope to be seeing everyone before long.
Bill and Jacque' Ring
Bill had an intestinal problem that
required surgery. His system took a long time to recover from both the
problem and the effects and complications of surgery. Really too lengthy
to go into detail. He is home and building up his strength and stamina.
He went without food most of the time and lost some weight, but mostly
strength and stamina. Is on the road to recovery.
Jacque' Ring

His name is Reese Backer. He and Ava lived in Stuart and he
and Bob White were pretty close.
Most of the folks on your list probably never met the

10/20/08 I received this information on Hunter McCarthy from Judy Alden she let me know that the McCarthy's were active in GMC Sunshine Statesman so some of you may remember them. >>Hi all, We are very saddened to pass on the information on the passing of Hunter McCarthy. The last time we personally saw Hunter was in May,2000 when Bob was admitted to the hospital in Greenville, NC where he passed away. That seems like such a long time ago. Probably a very long time for Hunter who now finally goes to join him. You can see from the note below that the McCarthy's were very active GMCer's while Bob was alive. Please join us in remembering Hunter in your thoughts and prayers.>>>>Judy and Flic>>>>> Long time Dixielanders members will be saddened to learn of the death of Hunter McCarthy on Thursday October 16. Hunter suffered a stroke about two weeks ago. She died at home. Sons John and Rob and daughter Molly were with her when she passed. No service is planned.>>> Hunter and husband Bob were very involved and active in the GMC community. Bob died in May 2000 in route to a Dixielanders rally at Bean Station, TN.>>> In addition to the Dixielanders, they were members of GMC Sunshine Statesmen, GMC Greatlakers, GMC Classics and GMCMI. Hunter and Bob taught a popular Line Dancing class at most of the GMCMI Conventions during the 90's.>>> Memories of Hunter and Bob can be sent to son John and his wife, Kathy at P.O. Box 27, Lillian AL,36549. If you wish to make a memorial donation in her name, Hunter has chosen:>>> Baldwin County Animal Shelter 15050 N County Rd 49, Summerdale AL 36580 or>>> The Animal Haven 559 Section St. S, Fairhope AL, 36532

10-2-08 Prayers are needed for Harleigh Texter Oct. 1 around 9 p in our kitchen -- I dropped
and shattered (for no reason) a beautiful, Warsteiner beer glass and went into
Harleigh's office to find him, at that moment, in acute respiratory
distress unlike I've ever seen... He mouthed "9ll".
