SpeedWorld January Mini-Rally Re-cap

Attendees of the SpeedWorld rally January 13-15 were:  Bounds, Galbavy/West, Rogolino, J. Sirum, Goring, Heller/Dale and visitors Josh & Corrissa.

Four coaches raced Friday evening.  I believe Morgan Goring made the best time, then Jim Galbavy, Jim Bounds, and Bob Heller.  Barefoot Bob was distracted by his co-pilot and our special guest, Raymond Cruz, from the TV series the Closer.  Unfortunately Raymond had to leave immediately after the race to get ready for a flight back to California.  He plans on using his own GMC “Crooked” in a special edition of the series next year.

We all started Saturday morning off with a hot breakfast of pancakes, sausage and bacon.  Afterward some members went to Fort Christmas Historical Park where there was a replica of Ft. Christmas along with a “Cracker” village.  It was very interesting to walk through the fort and all the cracker houses and envision what life was like for many Floridians in the late 1800’s.

Back at Camp SpeedWorld we were all treated to Rueben sandwiches hot off the griddle along with a variety of salads.  While watching the drags Saturday evening we enjoyed fresh hot dogs.  For a no-host rally, we sure did eat good!
