a Big Winner!

(cut-n-paste together for panoramic view)

Stay tuned here for all sorts of great stories, pics and even video of this fantastic reason to get together.  We will be building this report as we go so come back often.

The Sunshine Statesmen will get together for just about any reason but this one "takes the cake"!  At the Orlando Speedway in Bithlo near Orlando, the club had it's 3rd annual "Drag Race" rally.  It was a "no hoster" which means no planned dinners and no club camp fee.  There were no utilities and pretty much no facilities other than a portolet that stood out in the open grass lot like a lost puppy.  This only means folks came with an empty holding tank and full fuel and water tanks and let their coach do it's job of supplying everything that was needed.  Hey, that's what the GMC was designed to do and you must remember the ole adage "If you don't use it you loose it" so everyone there found out just how prepared their coach was!  Now we are not proposing to have all of our 9 rally season like this one but once a year it's a good thing to get out there and "rough" it a bit.  Those that cam were better for it, those of you that could not make it, start now preparing your coach for next years Drag Race rally, you will be glad you came.

Hey, and if you really want to get the full effect of the get together pay an extra $5 at the gate, come Friday night and get out there in front of that timing tree and mash that gas pedal!

Race Results:  OK, so I don't see NASCAR looking for new drivers from this outing but hey, it was a blast and that's what it's all about.  First lets thank all of the drivers who made the rally really, something to see.  Here are the race results.
