The Sunshine Statesmen "Drag Race Rally" flew across the
finish line and all there were winners. Friday the rally
started actually before the gates opened

at 6PM with everyone pitching in to make the rally a huge
success

.
No tech session was needed, no one could get the mechanical aspects
of the coach off their mind, set up at the finish line of the
1/4 mile track the sound of open headers and the smell of burned
rubber and fuel carried everyone well into the night. Pat
Smith with his 77 rear bath Royale took on Jim Bounds Post Office
Transmode who blistered a 23.11 at 57.82 MPH-- Yes, the GMC can now
also say it's got an "ET"!

Many members also walked over to the FASCAR oval track stock car
track and watched some of that destruction. The club tent was
the rally point,

food was not in short supply and the fun and friendship spilled
over-- in short it was a fun time for all. Different than any
other rally but still good times, how can you not have a good time
when friends get together? Many said they would like to come
back again so we'll have to see.

Attendees are listed below:
Filion, Hoogenwerf, Brewer, Bolick, Link, Bounds, Lee, Barton,
Smith, Peterson, Smith, Carson, Williams, Alden, Norrie, Meyers,
Lettington, Jenkins and many others in spirit.
A special thanks to Jon Lettington for bringing his "barber
box", all who needed a hair cut were sheered
